Just a small platforming game released under CC-BY for assets and MIT for code. Made by 72 Pin Connector for Pixel Weekend Jam #3: https://itch.io/jam/pixel-weekend-jam-3

This is really cute! Tricky but not too frustrating. I love the sprites, and the controls/physics feel really good.

I like the idea and the design. Is the car at the end an Elevator Action reference?

The one issue I had is that platforms tend to be exactly as high as you jump, and you fall like a rock even while floating. So you need to be pressing against the edge to jump to a platform higher than you.

I think that using yvelocity and 'gravity' instead of a timer would help resolve that.

One thing I think you could try too is to make floating either automatic once you hit the apex of the jump (with maybe 'down' canceling it), or have it activated by pressing the jump button a second time (like Peach's float mechanic in SMB2).

This was really fun My best time was 1 minute

Fun! Kind of basic, but I really like the sense of place that comes with such a detailed castle. Ending was also great.

Physics felt a little stiff. Jumping is kind of odd - it looks like gravity only kicks in after a set number of frames, and if you don't hold the jump button you kind of just linger in the air. A parabolic jump curve would feel much more natural. I don't think you ever need to jump less than your max height, so you could get away with making that the default.

That being said, fun little game! Again, really love the setting. Also, excellent into - I love the organic transition from title to gameplay.
