Are you experimenting with quantizing verts to bytes or somesuch? Perhaps even creating the equivalent of a display list (i.e. a list of gpu commands)?
Edit: Silly me, I just remembered I can look at your code! Ah yes, that's basically what you're working towards. Nice!
