Awesome! I love the art and the sound effects. Plus the words on top of the screen. If I may i would recommend adding music for a latter version. And i've found an exploit.

if you have 2 players you can send one down to the bottom and have them hang there. The monsters can be led to that player and will be trapped there, leaving the first player to collect candy.

When you die the screen showing your score vanishes. Need to show the player how far they got and maybe even have a high-score entry so there is some competition to beat it later.
