It is a remake.
The original idea is a posted small program "SARANANDA" from a reader to the discontinued computer magazine "MSX-FAN."
I inputted and played it when I was a high school student.

Just reading through your code man. Taught me heaps about assigning shortcuts to objects, and passing objects around. Your game is very cool.I started with C64 BASIC in the 80s and stopped at Actionscript/PHP/MYSQL some 21 years ago. The last thing I was playing with were tween engines, 3d engines and physics engines in
actionscript. Here I am again developing in Pico-8 and it feels like I'm back where I started. Your game rocks by the way - love your work. 5 stars. Would like to see more levels :)
