A pico-8 version of a puzzle game I made a few years ago on mobile.

Have fun!

Nicely done! I'm very familiar with Picross-like puzzles but it was interesting having to learn a whole new ruleset and strategies for this one!

Some minor quality of life tweaks might be nice, like being able to hold the mark button down while moving the cursor to fill multiple cells without it rapidly cycling them between states, as well as letting you wrap to the opposite edge of the board if you try to move off the side. Other than that, nothing to complain about!

This is really fun!

Curious about the origins of this - is it based on a pen and paper game? Or is it an original invention? I've never seen it before!

Yes @Terry, it's based on a lesser known pen and paper game.
Glad you liked it.

Pretty good! After finishing all the levels, I do have two recommendations.

One, add a way to disable hints, or at least add a much longer delay before the tile starts flashing yellow. As of now, it instantly gives away the solution if you mess up a single tile, which is counter intuitive for a puzzle game. Two, I'd also really of liked mouse support, which seems perfect for this type of UI/Game.

Other then those two suggestions, it's a really polished puzzle game, and I enjoyed going through it.

Thanks @Zeepso for your feedback!

I just published an update:

  • 5 new levels (larger size: 7x7)
  • possibility to disable hints (press V in-game to show options)

This is a great puzzle game, ends too quick!

All I did was fill in all the puzzle with red and fixed the glowing orange boxes. I finished in 2 minutes. This better be a world record for this game

@MaximumTough: I guess you can either play to think and have fun, or for the world record of "faster cell filler" :D

On a more serious note, you can disable hints in the menu ;)
