This is great! I like the puzzly take on snake, and the music and polish here is very nice. One suggestion I have though, the movement feels a little stiff. This could be fixed by implementing a move queue: every time the player hits a directional key (no matter where in the snake's animation you're at), add it to the end of the queue. Then, when the snake is about to move, take the direction at the front of the queue and go that way, or the same direction the snake went last if it's empty/the direction would cause a 180. Using this the snakeist can chain many movements easily, or turn round sharp corners with ease!
Also, how'd you do those lowercase characters?
