My game for Ludum Dare 38.
You can find the game page on the LD website here.

Controls:
Left and right: move the player (the little blue line)
Up and down: select things to build (show in the bottom left)
X: Place what you have selected

You have been tasked with colonising a barren planet. Arriving with limited resources you must build and reap the land to survive.

Your workers will go back to their homes to sleep and to a farm to eat when they require it.

Tips:
Build a house first with a farm next to it.
Then a little ways away build a sawmill (leave enough space around it for trees) and a house near to the sawmill.

Loved this one...
I am trying to build a simulation game myself and I have the ultmost respect for yours, because it works neatly.

@brunosxs Thanks so much! I've always wanted to build a sim style game and LD38 really just pushed me to do it. It's actually not that hard. I would recommend looking into state machines, that's a technique I used a lot for the workers when they decided what they wanted to do next.

All of my people are just standing around the sawmill...there are trees available to be cut down, there are farms and houses....but they just endlessly stand by the sawmill doing nothing. Am I doing something wrong? I love the concept and the visual design, but I've tried a few times and this just keeps happening where they just stand around not doing anything endlessly.

Oh this is great, I'd love to see it expanded on. The graphics work so well.
