Some notes for beginners (in addition to the video above):
- In the map editor you can use SPACE+mouse drag to pan (and show the grid!). It also supports zooming with mouse wheel.
- The sound editor is not only for sound effects but also for composing patterns (press TAB) that can be used in the music editor ("tracker" in the video)
- The music editor primarily is for arranging songs made from patterns. It can also be used to modify patterns but offers no tools for that.

Thanks for the tutorial! I tried following along with it before, but got too excited and went gung-ho into creating a hangman game. While it works, I think I probably could have done a far better job if I had have just followed along with your tutorials completely, first. haha
Anyway, here's my completed Light Cycles game created using your tutorial:
