Today I wanted to play around with the GPIO pins for a bit. But unfortunately I couldn't because every time I'd try to run a program that would poke the GPIO region Pico-8 crashes and hangs forcing me to take out the raspberry PI's power.

I'm running Pico-8 0.1.10c with root on a Rapberry Pi 1 Model B+ with Raspbian.

Is this a known issue? Or what could possibly cause this issue and how can I go about resolving it?

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the report.

This has been an issue in earlier versions, but in 0.1.10c is meant to continue (with a single erorr message to stdout), if it fails to access gpio. I'm testing 0.1.10c on a 1 B+ w/ Raspbian, but haven't reproduced the crash yet.

What happens when you run PICO-8 as root?
sudo pico8
// password raspberry

Are you running the staticly linked version (pico8) or the dynamically linked one (pico8_dyn)?

I was running the staticly linked version. I was running it as root all the time.

For now I've done a fresh install of my OS. It works fine now.

Before installing a different version of the OS I updated everything aswell (OS and packages) but that didn't help either.
Not quite sure what went wrong.

I'm going to mark this issue as solved since it works now for me. But this might still be a bug.
