I'm trying to cast a shadow over a distorted sprite by setting a fill pattern with transparency andd then rectfilling over the sprite. But I can't seem to get the pico-8 fill pattern transparency bit to work. Does anyone know how to get this effect working in picotron? For reference, the introduction to https://pico-8.fandom.com/wiki/Fillp describes it at the end - adding 0x0.8 to a fill pattern will enable the "on" bits to be transparent.

i missed how easy it was to tell what a color's numerical code was, so i made a picotron cart to list them out :) it doesn't do anything cool like copying them when you click on them, or reordering them to put like colors together... but it's better than counting by hand!

it's extremely short for an rpg (15 minutes total). i made a dialog-heavy crafting RPG in pico-8 because i fear neither god nor man. a major goal i had was to make something that felt like a Real Finished Game, rather than an isolated tech demo or something. so it's got a beginning, middle, and end, and talk sprites, and ui animations, and so on. i'm ridiculously proud of this - i've never made a game as finished as this before. please play and enjoy! and tell me what you think!

i had to use shrinko8 in order to cram it all into the limits, i was really up against them. maybe atelier phoebe 2 will be a multicart... switch to cartridge 2 for act 2!
