As a beginner to Pico-8 and programming I really appreciate the easy to read code that you have written to go along with your game. It reads very easily and I understood all of it as I have used almost all of those same programming practices in projects I have worked on.

Congrats on your first game! Just one suggestion: keep the final score up at the end so other players can share it. Which I just realized is a year older from your latest stuff lol..

Sometimes the cactus would spawn right under your feet once the wave of coins is cleared.
