I am having difficulty connecting to the BBS from SPLORE to view any category of carts. There are some that I have loaded previously, but now when I select "update" or try to search, I get a loading spinner for a long while followed by a popup message stating "TIMEOUT". I have a working internet connection on both computers that I've tried this with. Is there something else that I should try to get this working? Is there a log file that I can turn to for clues?

I have found a solution, and I'm afraid it's a painfully simple one: I just had to restart my router. It seems that although I was able to connect to the internet, there was something "stuck" that was preventing downloads on some devices or something. A quick reboot fixed it, though.

For anyone searching for this later, you can find out if it is a problem with PICO-8 vs. your connection by downloading the cart list from a browser (press ctrl-shift-R to refresh):


You should get an image with the first 32 cartridge labels.

If that works, but it still doesn't download from PICO-8, then you may have a firewall that blocks particular applications, in which case PICO-8 needs to be white-listed.
