A Tetris clone, and also the first cartridge I have posted on the forum.
Contains no animation, and messy code.
O and X for rotation. By default, O rotates counter-clockwise, X clockwise, but it can be swapped.
Left and right moves pieces.
Down for soft drop.
Up for quick drop, but can be turned off.
Tab (2P O button) is used for hold. Can be turned off.
Lots of nice Quality of Life features here! The title screen has tons of options :)
Tetris is a fun first project. That was mine too: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=51619&tid=31128
I made a tetris clone a while ago that I called "Alleytris" that came from playing with extremes of the tetris formula. I added more pieces and made it just as big as I could, I made it 1 column wide with only 1x1 pieces. Both of these were boring. But then I stumbled upon something. A 4 wide board. You'd be amazed and what you learn by playing this way. You should try it with yours.
@trevorade - Thanks! Your tetris definitely looks and sounds a lot more appealing than mine!
@joealarson - One-column tetris -- reminds of the 1d-tetris plugin on Rockbox firmwares...
@Lightwatch - Thanks! In fact, some skins are mimicking the gameboy and NES releases of tetris. One of the skins is draw by my friend!
