I really enjoyed this. The plant boss shooting fire balls was impressive :)
Well done with the 64x64 screen! That’s a tough medium and you worked it like a boss.
My only suggestion is to consider reworking button inputs. it becomes kind of easy mode if I mash o and x at the same time while I’m moving around. Basically a jumping shield.
Nicely designed!!

This is amazing, it captured the feeling of finding a mysterious thing that seems confusing at first but soon makes sense.
It is rather janky and fiddly , but I think that adds to the experience, making it like an old game that may not control very well but is a classic nonetheless. The lack of explanation for things added to the mystery and the feeling of exploration. I also loved the little bits of implied story. The detail of leaving your body behind every time you die creates the perfect sort of questiond that probably don't have an answer (and is the player character an eye?! I think pressing down makes it blink.) [also, the bosses don't look particularly evil, they seem to be crying while fighting, are we the villain here?]
I think I got all the coins in the game, but I have one coin left over after buying
Anyway, this hit the perfect spot of mysterious, incomprehensible, retro adventure for me, thanks for making it and sharing it!

I played this game when it had just released on the new carts page. I made an account just because this game is awesome. It really reminds me of Hollow Knight with all the hidden passages and especially the spike jumping mechanics. I do agree with Munchkin on the fact that the player looks like an eye, and the fact that the bosses do cry, which is weird. I haven't beat the game yet. I don't know how to progress after the mushroom place.

Furious, Munchkin and Player 1, thank you all for you kind words.
Furious, you're so right! I used this technique while playtesting all of the time, but the final boss looks for ways to outmatch this technique, use at your own risks!
Munchkin, the world has a total of
Player 1, to progress, try to find the skulls in the wall, they indicate where you'll find the third and final boss. hint:

Thanks for the tip, Cyan! Munchkin, I finally beat the game
