Appreciate you guys!

-how does the lack of goal feel?
It doesn't feel like a lack of goal, because the progression seems quiete linear.
-movement feels fine
-It took me a while to figure out how to catch up to my own traps.
The most annoying thing i encountered was spawning in a world with no yellow piers. So I didn't have anywhere to spend my money.

Are you planning to add some graphics to the edges of the river? It looks like a snowy landscape, but it could be fun to do some sightseeing while waiting.

@SawwTooth
-how does lack of goal feel?
it's oddly satisfying :) because at least for the moment I don't see much to do except for selling GAR, none of the two piers wants to buy catfish so I have a ton of them and selling the few gars I find, to buy an extra jug.
(I refreshed page now and see the comment above, so it seems a random spawn.. so it should work if a pier changes the kind of fish they need after selling them)

Why is it at 30fps? Maybe use 60fps so the transition effect (which is pretty but takes time) will be twice as fast and smooth, also the pixel-borders of the river I bet will gain a smoother effect while scrolling.
I assume there will be more fish variety in the final version. Edit: Wait now I've played after a refresh, sold a lot of catfish and I see more variety in both traps and fish!
But it's relaxing and pleasant to play

-how does movement feel? Feels good, the reverse direction after a bump can be disorienting but it's ok considering the current lack of odds.

none

-find frustrating points
as mentioned earlier maybe the slow transition between areas but at 60fps, x2 speed will be ok.

Oops: while setting off a bait trap. What I did just before was noticing I had 1 Minnow, 1 bread and 5 crawfish in the Bait menu, I tried to select them and click set (not knowing how to use them) but nothing changed nor been set off.
Then reopening the menu I notice the tilde (I don't think I saw it before?) and this happened clicking Set on a bait trap.

Edit: launching it again I think I see how to set baits. So if I use them properly, just click set ONCE on a bait and then go to Traps tab ad assign that to either net or bait-trap it seems to work: I see the orange tilde char next to the released trap.
So maybe if I click Baits tooo many times (as I did previously) it crashes.
