You are a poor humanoid who are trapped in the evil face's fortress.

This giant fortress is made of harzadous electric walls, and The evil face and his guard bots are chasing you.

you must escape this horrible place with a laser pistol. but nobody knows if there's actually an exit...

Controls

D-pad : move

D-pad while holding O or X button : shoot laser pistol.

Option instruction

  1. extra life : gives an extra life every time your score exceeds the assigned point.

  2. evil face : when evil face is smiling, he will appear in the game and chase you. when frowning, he won't appear in the game.

  3. start difficulty : the difficulty level at the start of the game.

  4. max difficulty : the highest difficulty level allowed in the game.

  5. robot AI : In Classic mode, robots always shoot at you ignoring the walls and can collide each other.
    in Improved mode, robots don't shoot when there's a wall between them and you and they won't collide each other when there are less than 4 robots.

It has nothing to do with ET, just a clone of berzerk.


1.1 patch

  • fixed a bug where you can be killed while moving to the next maze.

  • Increased robot deactivate time when entering new mazes.

1.2 patch

some people said the game is too hard so I made it easier.

  • decreased the evil face's movement speed in max difficulty.

  • Increased the time until evil face appears.

  • increased robot's cooldown after firing a laser.

1.3 patch

  • changed evil face spawning position so you won't get insta killed.

  • Changed classic AI so you can lure the robots to ram into the walls like the arcade original.

  • evil face appearing time decreases as the difficulty increases.

This is pretty much the final version.


great re-creation of the game.. my only gripe is otto seems to appear way too fast on a new board. some times he seems to spawn just a few seconds after i do.


The spawn time is based on the number of the robots. If there are few robots otto will appear faster, the original also worked like this.


1.4 patch

  • slightly Increased evil face appearing time in lower difficulties.

1.5 patch

  • I found some issues with the robot AI and fixed it. also I optimized the code to prevent slowdowns.

  • changed the number of robots RNG. you'll mostly encounter 6~9 robots.

  • when there's only 1 robot left, the robot will fire laser as fast as player for more intense battle.

1.51 patch

  • Increasing the robot's firing rate was a bad idea... it made the game too frustrating. i reverted it back.

1.6 patch

  • Fixed strange bullet collide function where two bullets are collided but sometimes only one of them disappears.

  • Decreased robot's laser firerate to make it easier to play.

1.8 patch

  • Reworked the difficulty as it was still too hard.

I got a new handheld called RGB30, and decided to updated this one to enjoy more.

2.0 update

since there are some framedrops when the voice is playing, there's no random mid voices (get it, attack it, get the humanoid, attack the humanoid, get chicken) to prevent unfair situations.

  • increased evil otto spawn time.

2.1 patch

  • the unused voices now play when the player is spawned.

What a fantastic game you built here! certainly not a clone more like an homage to an old classic. loved it!
