First attempt at writing something for the pico8 with my daughter.. am loving this thing so far!

There are a load of things left to finish in this (and a lot of lovely bugs!), but thought I'd share now it's actually playable for some feedback.

I would add an incentive not to use the special weapon 24/7 :p. Though they are pretty fun to use, so maybe that's what you're going for. Pretty neat little game!

I have turned the charge rate down a little bit.. think I need to work on the enemy movement and make them trickier to hit.

Might help if they are shooting at the player too!

Love the juiciness of the weapons!

The X one doesn't seem to do anything.

Fun just blasting with multi-missiles! Maybe have progressively cool weapons unlock over time, then drop as powerups from enemies you destroy (like Arkanoid does). Then you would feel you have earned it.

Would be cool if different types acted differently (shoot 'em, they fall at you, etc), or needed different weapons to destroy 'em.

Would like to see the wave # I'm on on the game screen....

Super-great first attempt! Lots of fun potential. Great job on cuteness and juiciness!

Thanks for the comments dudes.

I've updated it a bit to v0.7:
o Added the EMP weapon - not 100% happy with this as it sometimes just destroys single enemies - more tuning required.
o slowed down the charge rate to make things less manic.

I've taken the other suggestions on-board and am going to have a re-tweak :)
