It has been almost six hours since you have entered this cursed pyramid. Upon reaching the table, you noticed four carved patterns on the wall and a bag full of runes. You understand you have to make those patterns as fast as you can. Walls start contracting on you when you approach the table.

Pretty neat. I see the puzzle but not a game with the pyramid with the player as you have above.

What you could do is once a puzzle is complete, show the pyramid scene and animate to move the player one step closer to the pyramid.

He can also be attacked. Your puzzle field could have scarabs (a type of Egyptian beetle) appear and you must use the (Z) button to zap each as they appear. Could have lightning appear from the top. :)

And you only have so long to hit a scarab. Take too long and more appear. If the board fills up, you lose a credit.

Once you have cleared the board though, you can return to your regular thinking puzzle game.

Perhaps have the 'scarab attack' after every 2-levels or if the player is taking too long on a level.

Puzzles could also start easy. Maybe two blocks only, then three, then four, etc.

Hey dw817 ! Thanks for this feedback. The fact is, that the player is inside the pyramid, he has to solve this puzzle in order not to die so maybe I can show some picture of the inside of the pyramid but I'm really not good at pixelart, maybe I will try for next games !

The scarabs feature is a really good idea ! I don't know if I will continue this project but sure it can bring more fun in this game !

Glad to help.

Well, if that's the case. Yes, at the beginning of the game, show the player trudge towards the pyramid, staggering a bit, as if it's hard work to move in the sand.

Once inside with eerie lighting you could show the player move from one room in the catacombs to the next. As you mentioned contracting walls, you could indeed show the player in a room with no exits and the walls start to close in.
