I'm just getting started on a simplified-physics racing game in my spare time, building up the forces one at a time. This slidey-spaceship feel was interesting, so I thought I'd share.

These types of games have a tendency to be annoying due to the limited screen-space of the PICO-8. I'm not saying this is a bad idea, but be sure to calibrate the speed and/or set up the camera so players can see what's coming up. Maybe offset the camera to a proportion of the player's delta-x/delta-y.



Good point. I'm thinking about RC Pro AM, which had similar constraints.
