I have purchased a license and extracted the raspberry pi version of the files onto storage/roms/pico-8.
Going back to my handheld and starting pico-8 results in a blackscreen for 2 seconds, then goes back to pico-8 selection screen. Please help.
I have updated JelOS to latest version if that helps.
What files are in storage/roms/pico-8 and did you check that pico8 and/or pico8_dyn are set executable? One thing I've run into occasionally is when extracting the ZIP I have to do a chmod +x on those files after extraction.
EDIT - now that I see your screenshot, pico8 is definitely not set as executable, so you might be able to fix your issue by doing that.
are you sure? i didn't think we need to do any chmod +x, just drag and drop will do. i selected start pico-8.sh, it goes into blackscreen 2 seconds, then returns to selection screen.
no, the executable bit is required for any file to be run as an executable
@PowkiddyRGB30 I'm assuming that the shell script calls the pico8 executable at some point to actually run PICO-8, so you do need to make sure pico8 is set executable.
yeah you were actually right, after setting the octal value to 777, everything worked like magic. not sure why no documentation i came across even mentioned this.
