I think a lot of the code will have to be re-written for animations
Arrows to move the cursor
Hold O to twist a segment
Hold X to rotate the cube

@nme, you might be interested in a videogame made for the Atari 2600 called "Atari Video Cube."
It simulates the rotation of a cube by clever resizing of rectangular images on its edifices. No true 3D coding is required.
