i remade a game that ive never played before from (a vague) memory to try out pico-8.
i looked up the game after making this, and turns out its about chucking knives into logs, not daggers into apples.

Pretty good but gets too hard too quickly, @OceanUwU.

Suggest you add counter-spin and perhaps patterns that must be learned. Where it spins clockwise, freezes, counter-clockwise, etc. Without ever changing the actual speed of rotation.

For instance, here are 3-possible levels.

"<" spin counter-clockwise.
">" spin clockwise.
"*" freeze up.
"U" Whole apple moves up a bit.
"D" Whole apple moves down a bit.
"L" Whole apple moves left a bit.
"R" Whole apple moves right a bit.

Level 1. ">"

So for level one, the Apple rotates giving it a full uninterrupted rotation.

Level 2. ">><"

Level 2 rotates mostly clockwise but hiccups backwards a bit, then forwards again.

Level 3. "*<<*>"

Trickier, mostly counter-rotation, with hiccups that stop rotation.

Make even more devious patterns for higher levels, and more swords needed to complete each of those levels.

Also allow player to move sword left and right before launching - if desired.
