@einar-st, you have just recreated one of the absolute first games I made on the TRS-80 lore ago.
I used >=- and as -=< as rockets on each side of the screen that could move up and down vertically. They could not move horizontally though.
The keystrokes were q and z to move and a to fire. Your opponent was controlled by the computer.
The shot was just a long line of --- and when you hit your target it just said, -+=*=+- to show a sort of explosion.
But it worked ! I even remember my Dad taking the TRS-80 to Octoberfest and there I sat down to do both coding and show others the games I wrote and saved on audiocassette.
Good times. Gold star for the memories.
I think there is a bug:
- Start the game and fly player 2's ship through player 1
- Position player 2 in front of player 1
- Player 1 can no longer shoot player 2
