What is Flapper?

Flapper is a simple arcade game for Pico-8 systems and my first finished game project.

Summary

Flapper is a little green bird who loves to live life on the edge.

In this game you will guide Flapper through a dungeon chamber using "z" or "x" to flap his wings. Avoid colliding with spikes or walls and hit the blue bounce pads to change direction and increase your score.

The game gets progressively faster the higher your score!

How far can you get?

Needs an increasing difficulty, @Gamehuman. Perhaps ramp the gravity and wing push over time ?

@dw817 Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking about doing an update at some point, maybe soon, I set horizontal speed to increase a little every 10 points but gravity stays constant right now so that is something I'll definetely play about with for the next version.

It's a nice idea, but most of the game is flying back and forth, which gets boring fast.

So I changed it to

x=30,
y=64,
dx=1.1,

Better and doesn't feel any more difficult.

After playing a while I noticed I die mostly when one of the pads is near the bottom of the screen. Those are the hardest to hit.

Good twist on the regular flappy bird.
