It's feltkat! In space!
This is a fan game about feltkat by Amatrine. Use the directional buttons to move, collect coins, and avoid spacerocks. Help feltkat make it to the planet!
This is my second game ever, so the code isn't very good, but I had a lot of fun making it! There's one extra life at 20 coins, one at 40, and one at 70, but they only spawn if you've lost one or more lives. Feedback is appreciated :D
See if you can beat my high score!

I feel a little cheated bc I got to 20 coins without losing a life and then I lost a life at 22 and I realized that the extra life I got didn't count :(
Nice game though, I like the music and it's interesting how different it feels just to have obstacles coming from the left instead of the more usual way from the right.

Hey @SaltySalticid thanks for playing! I suppose I could change the game so that getting an extra life increases the maximum number of lives. For now, I'll clarify in the description that you only get an extra life if you've lost one or more. Thanks for the feedback!

What was the most challenging part of making this game as your second project, and is there anything you'd want to add or improve if you made a version 2? Block Blast

@gfd :
simple suggestion : give points if you grab the extra life when full, and also points for remaining lives at the end of the game.
You could tweak the numbers so that a perfect "damage-less grab every coin" run gives you a satisfying round 100 points, maybe with a yellow PERFECT blinking text on top for good measure.

@thomassinner - I would have to say the programming was the most challenging part, there still are many concepts for me to learn but I feel better now knowing what I don't know about programming a little more than I used to! And I would probably want to add the ideas people have given me as feedback in a version 2. I find it funny how it didn't occur to me to add these touches to the game, I think I'll do some more playtesting before posting my next one!
@RealShadowCaster - I really like these ideas, makes me wish I implemented something like that now. I thought about editing the game a bit after I went back and updated the cart to fix the bugs, but ultimately decided against it as I want to focus my time and energy on my next game. I'm going to keep this in mind for future reference!
