All code credit to Chicken Maze. I re-skinned parts and made some adjustments to the game to help me learn a class I am taking on coding Lua in Pico8. Because I'm not sure what I'm doing I messed up the lives somehow and it now glitches out when you collect an item. Not sure what happened.

This is an attempt at an original game. I have never coded before and I only got this far using this ( https://youtu.be/NOcZonu65hE ) really great tutorial. If anyone would like to take it upon themselves to help a frustrated noob figure out how to make this some sort of actual game and and all help is welcome.
Things I'd like to do but have gotten stuck on so far:
Sprite walk animation (alternate animations already drawn)
Game menus. Start and end.
Game completion when all coins are collected.
A WIP game for a class.
