This is my first proper game and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out!
It's Chess, but jazzed up a bit.
Instead of capturing pieces, you now have to attack and reduce the piece's HP to zero.
Each type of piece now also has special skills that cost SP (skill points).
The board has been expanded a bit to allow for additional shenanigans.
Each piece moves the way you would expect it to, however on each turn, there are two phases.
You can select how you use these phases (moving, attacking, using a skill, or passing your turn).
Each piece type has a different HP and SP max.
All attacks (except for one in particular) deal 1 damage.
Here is a rundown of the piece skills:
This is a simple adventure game I made for my son, who is 3 years old. He loves the old Zelda games, but obviously he has trouble with the dialog parts and the puzzles. He also loves trucks, dinosaurs, and to write music with me. He even helped write the music for the game!
I resolved to make a game in the same style as those games, but MUCH simpler.
Main features:
- No dialog or reading required.
- Simple, randomly generated terrain features
- Randomly spawned enemies (3 types)
- Randomly located boss (a fire-breathing T-Rex)
- Randomly placed treasures
- Consistent land features (field of tall grass, beach)
The goal is to go around and get the 3 treasures, then return them to the giant toybox in the middle of the map. The treasures are scattered around the map:
Here is my first game, a hiking simulator.
I love hiking and outdoorsy stuff in general.
There is no goal here, just go for a hike and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
The controls couldn't be simpler. Just press right to hike or release right to enjoy the majesty. You can't go back the way you came.
This was fun as it was an exercise in rendering a full background without making a map at all.
