Turbotron is unique among tron games because it has acceleration which makes the classic tron game so much more fun and also more like the light bikes in the original movie. It's a work in progress but please give feedback and enjoy!!

UPDATE [4th Jan 2019]
-updated minor errors
-reactivated acceleration in single player mode

NEXT UPDATE [soon-ish]
-will clean up code which should fix some current glitches
-will improve A.I. in single player mode to be more 'intelligent' and challenging
-possibly other improvements from users feedback

The game is good so far! I noticed that you can instakill yourself if you go directly backwards into your line. Is this intentional? I think it could be a good idea to disable or ignore a keypress that could instakill yourself. Not sure if this is present in any other tron themed games.

Thanks for feedback, yeah will incorporate that in a future build. Keep the feedback coming as we are still working through glitches etc. Glad you enjoyed the game. Try two player which has the acceleration if you haven't tried yet^^

Playing one player, somehow the yellow one crossed over my line. Like it took advantage of one of the jumps to avoid the collision.

How do you invoke the acceleration?

@joealarson Thanks for feedback! We are new to PICO-8 and so still working things out so appreciate your input.

I have just uploaded a new version (v 1.3) which includes acceleration which we had disabled in single player mode. We do have to now program the CPU A.I. to also have acceleration but we will add that to the next update.

Just keep your finger on the arrow key of the direction you wish to go to accelerate!
