Hello mates!
today I installed Voxatron on a Linux distribution (openSUSE) using the newest Humble Bundle link for a .tar.gz file.
The problem appears when I try to move around the main menu, it's like it's always pressing the up arrow, but I'm not doing that.
I installed the file using fisrt
cd Desktop |
to go to the directory and then
su |
for superuser and then
yast2 -i "the file" |
to install the package
I appreciate a lot you help! Thanks!
EDIT 1: Tried playing on the editor and appears the same problem on the game and on the pause menu.
I had the same problem but I'm in Windows....not sure if this will fix it for you also.
I had to select 'CARTS' by pressing 'Enter'.
Then again press 'Enter' to select 'Alpha Carts'
Then again press 'Enter' to choose 'Alpha Arena'
When game starts hit 'ESC' key to bring up settings menu
I then used the Down Arrow key to scroll down and highlight 'Options'
Hit 'Enter' again to select 'Options'
Hit 'Enter' again to select 'Controls'
Use Down Arrow to highlight 'Control'
Use Left/Right key to select 'Keys'
This let me then use the keyboard to navigate the menus and control the game.
I guess it was seeing my joystick that is plugged in but that I didn't want to use. Maybe it's seeing a joystick on your machine or for some reason thinks that there is one.
Hope it helps you and anyone else that had this problem. :-)
BTW, I've only spent a little time with it but I really like Voxatron. :-)
Right -- this is caused by some controller sending a sticky up-button signal (or perhaps SDL2 is reading it wrong). I don't have a good work-around beyond Harvester's method or unplugging the joystick if possible, but will set the default controls to keyboard in 0.3.1 until I'm confident I can detect it and avoid it.
What kind of joysticks did you have plugged in, by the way?
