A short, but charming platforming experience you need to play! Inspired by the golden age of retro gaming, My Soul Got Lost In A Dungeon blends the classic pixel charm and simplicity of old school platformers with tight, modern and easy to understand controls.
The game features 16 hand crafted levels, with different types of enemies, obstacles and items. Take control of your soul and defeat all enemies with the help of your dash ability in order to proceed to the next floor.
Whether you're here to beat the game in record time, or just relive the feeling of popping in a cartridge and pressing start, My Soul Got Lost In A Dungeon is ready to bring the nostalgia ;)

bug report - it crashed with an error report because timer went above 10 minutes ( i think )

i was going to comment saying level 8 is a bit too hard , then i reached level 10 and it seems nearly impossible !

@bigjus The game’s goal is to provide a challenging platforming experience, and level 10 is certainly tough! I’ll look into the level design to see if I can make some levels more accessible. Thank you so much for the feedback!

I reached the end, but there are a few mechanics here that seem harsh, even for a challenging platformer.

- Could the maximum falling speed be reduced without breaking the level design? I had a lot of trouble timing when to use the dash when falling past something.
- Could the spike hitboxes be smaller (which I'd prefer) or could the spike graphics be extended to fill the hitbox? In level 8 below, the visuals look like I can jump straight up. However, if I try I hit the spikes. When I did wall jump and clear the spikes on the right, I'd often hit the spikes hanging off the ceiling.

You have a solid engine here, I hope you can make it a fun level of challenging for people.

@Cowirrie Thanks for the great feedback! You are definitely right about the sprite hitboxes, so I'll work on making them smaller. I'll also try to balance the fall speed slightly to make the game feel less harsh. I hope you still managed to enjoy the game despite the issues :)

Nice. Because I was focussed on the player, I missed the dash charge bar at first. Some visual on the player (color change/ red dot(s) over the head) would be welcome but not very important since you'll likeky only have to keep track for a few seconds.
Level 12 can be finished with one dash remaining. Some reward (time/ extra life / one time use level skip / stat on end screen / extra dash /whatever) would be welcome for acknowledging the feat.
Got inside a wall to the right side once. Moving to the left booted me back inside the play area.
Best time and best death count could be saved with cartdata and shown on the start and end screens.
