A Fight! With snowballs! Don't forget to grab all the cool stuff the other kids drop!

Growing up in rural Canada, winter always meant huge, endless piles of snow everywhere. And as kids, huge piles of snow meant chaos. Snowball Fight! is an endless, high score chasing, winter arena "shooter." Bury the other kids with snowballs or dig ledges out from underneath them and nab dropped presents for bonus points. Clear each screen to move to the next one.

This game was made as part of the 2024 PICO-8 Advent Calendar.

Notes and tips:

  • you can replay the tutorial text from the pause menu
  • if you're on top of the snow terrain you can just walk off the edge to get back down but while you're up there your snowballs won't be blocked by the terrain
  • tossing snow boulders and enemies is random, you can't control where they'll land
  • snow boulders can be used as cover. If you're right next to one your snowballs will fly right over but enemy snowballs thrown from a distance will be blocked
  • you can still throw snowballs when the crosshair is outside the maximum range circle but snowballs will only travel as far as the edge of the circle
