- Z/N: Look at pie recipe
- X/M: Interact with an object
Interact with stuff! If it doesn't help to further your pie-goals, at least it might have some entertaining flavor text!
CREDITS
All the coding, art, sound design, etc. was done by yours truly.
Special thanks to the Pico-8 discord for being helpful and answering my questions!
I got ahold of Pico-8 about 2 months ago, and I started working on this about two days into learning it, so... this took longer to make than I was thinking. But I think it's cute, and I learned a lot, so I like it!
Awesome little game! I accidentally resetted my cart in the middle of it so I haven't finished it yet, but I only needed 3 more ingredients so I was pretty close, will finish later.
I had a little problem where sometimes (especially with the apples), when I picked up an item I wouldn't be able to move unless I pressed X again. Nothing major, but was a little annoying.
Again, super cool game! I love the small "open-world" experience and the NPCs. The art is super cute too :D Cheers!
EDIT: Just finished it. Thanks for sharing this with us, friend :)
Ha right! I did remark that section of the map earlier and wondered if we would go there. I didn’t think of doing the thing that you hinted at :) The following
The game was just long enough that I memorized the map and found my way directly to the dude on the bench and to my house :D Overall a lovely experience, would recommend as a first action/adventure RPG game for sure.
Really cute! But the slow movement speed and repetitive music drive me crazy 😝
Nice short Zelda like game!
I almost got stuck until I figured out that I should swim against the river to enter hidden area to find remaining ingredients and access to last flower.
That chicken house was puzzling at first until I realized that I had to sneak past the chicken. It was tense but I got the egg. Phew, good thing she doesn't snatch the egg back ;D.
@birdmanisking Thank you! I don't know if I'll make any more games with pico-8, I love the system but I like having a little more space. I enter game jams every once in a while, you can see my itch page here, I've got a couple good games there.
Thanks for the link! I can't wait to see any new games you will make.
