I think it's buggy no matter what cart is tried as long as it uses the mouse. Not the fault of the programmers.

Are you getting the same thing I am ? And remember ... it's only buggy if you run them from the website:

Yes, it is. And I think there are bugs running it in Pico-8 as well. I tried making a game that used the mouse as well as the keys simultaneously, but it is never able to detect the mouse and keypresses at the same time, and sometimes Pico-8 wouldn't detect button presses at all anymore and would need to be restarted completely(Close the window and open it again.) This isn't a complete feature yet, right?

Then again there are some games that work just fine by only using the mouse and nothing else, such as Complicity Inc.

I guess it is one or the other, not both. But that is just my guess, and yours is as good as mine.
