@Cwod you need the injector to break quartz and rock. you should be able to upgrade it if you have the 3 mushroom types. check the right side of the blaster upgrade UI. It is something most people miss. That is on me, I should have made this clearer in the UI -___-

How does the screen glitch effect work? I assume it is probably through manipulating the screen data RAM right?

@AntArrow It simpler or more complicated depending on where you are coming from. As I am not very experienced with Pico8 or RAM manipulation I just read pixels with pget() and write them back in with an offset with pset().

I mean that you just walk around and garden and when You run out of oxygen you have to stop and that is just so anoying!

I really enjoyed this one! Beat it in about 3 sittings on my Miyoo Mini +
The ending wasn't the most obvious or maybe I just didn't want it to end!!

Lovely game, one of my favorites for Pico-8. Great job! Only thing that "broke the illusion" for me was the regenerating minerals and metals, but that is a minor niggle...

The shared experience of logging off at the lake. 10/10. Would love to see each revive be optional.

Fantastic game

@vehka An interesting remark that didn't occur to me.
@mkoloch if you ever plan a sequel, different regrow speeds might be interesting, both for the immersion and the puzzle aspects of the game.
Maybe different intensities of lasers could allow to burn some vegetation quicker at the price of destroyed resources, for example.
I'd love to have a changing room to equip the most suited gear (fast vs fire resist for example) for the run.

This game was real nice. The post mortem at the end is a great resource as well.

Such a polished game, I can see that I'll be playing this for a while.

@mkoloch how did you do the vhs screen effect? Does pico-8 api allow such movements?

EDIT: nvm, I see the comment above. That's very clever.

Really solid! I appreciated the little "aha!" with the quartz, and the general vibes!

Maybe spoilers:

Only thought I have: I wasn't 100% sure I reached the endgame state; I ended up filling out my upgrades, but a little bit of feedback indicating that the game's complete might be nice. (But, that's totally an editorial/creative decision; there's something to be said for wandering around at the end...)
