This is a work in progress puzzle game, currently with 6 levels. Z to pick up / drop boxes, or jump. X restarts the level. You must put all of the boxes onto the button to unlock the door.
This is really cool so far! I especially like the fourth and fifth puzzles being tutorials for new mechanics. I also really like how the first level makes it clear that you can't push the boxes. I think it might help to have separate buttons for jumping and interacting with boxes, maybe restarting the level could be a menu item.
I think having jumping and interacting with boxes be the same button is an interesting game mechanic, being unable to jump whilst carrying a (possibly) really heavy box. (It gives a bit of reasoning as to why the player can't just push down a button by standing on it too)
Yes, you could make those two separate buttons, but with how little buttons the pico-8 controller has, having one button be a quick way to restart and the other doing double duty + showing the thing that makes this puzzle game interesting is the better option IMO.
I'm really excited to see what this game evolves into!
