John (the pixel artist on Jasper) and I are working in different cities now, so every now and then I get to see a bunch of new stuff all at once. Recently an entire Santa-Sleigh worth of Jasper swag landed in my inbox. (^ _ ^) Here are some screenshots:

I just realised -- that plant really looks like the one from Ghosts and Goblins.

A few explanitory notes for people who are familiar with the original game:

  • You can now go inside little rooms through doors like the one in the first screenshot. Sooo 90s.
  • You can still save your game at the inns, but it's also now a shop where you can buy potions and other useful stuff.
  • The gremlins use their shields to try and protect themselves.
  • Some of the keys and treasure chests now have wings and fly around.

Those shots look very promising. Looking forward to checking out the demo! Next week, you say? :)

Yes the game looks amazing, congrats John. Can't wait to play it! Joseph where can be found the original game you are talking about?

Next week? Sure, I'll pencil that in. No problem. Hold on.. just need to use the bathroom.

[Door closes, 10 second pause]

[Muffled sound of window opening and distant footsteps running away]
