TimSwast [Lexaloffle Blog Feed]https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?uid=12881 Feature Request: MagicaVoxel .vox format support <p>I see in the manual that Qubicle file format is supported for importing models, but I use MagicaVoxel on my computer and Particubes on my iPad, which use the same .vox format. (Spec: <a href="https://github.com/ephtracy/voxel-model/blob/master/MagicaVoxel-file-format-vox.txt">https://github.com/ephtracy/voxel-model/blob/master/MagicaVoxel-file-format-vox.txt</a>)</p> https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=33289 https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=33289 Sun, 17 Feb 2019 01:24:01 UTC Gamekitty <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=52431#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico52430.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=52431#p"> Gamekitty 1.0</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=52431#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>Gamekitty is a project I started back in September 2016. This little pixel cat has several poses, and it chooses the next pose randomly based on its current pose. The next pose has to have a good transition from the current one. This means the cat's state can be represented with something called a Markov chain.</p> <p>I like to think of it as a little digital life roaming around the cart. Hope you like it!</p> <p>P.S. I'm hoping to expand on the ideas I've prototyped here in Pikov (<a href="https://github.com/google/pikov">https://github.com/google/pikov</a>) as a way to create a new kind of pixel art animation.</p> https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=31240 https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=31240 Sat, 05 May 2018 19:30:40 UTC Octobit 2017 <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=45583#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/45582.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=45583#p"> Untitled</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=45583#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>For day 28 the theme was campfire. The theme was butterfly.</p> <p>I drew the animation in Pixaki on my iPad and then imported the sprite sheet into PICO-8. It's been a long, rainy winter. I really enjoy watching this hex-a-blob crawl across the screen.</p> <p>I made the fade out a little nicer by using the darker colors from <a href="https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?uid=12861"> @krajzeg</a>'s lighting tutorial. <a href="https://hackernoon.com/pico-8-lighting-part-1-thin-dark-line-8ea15d21fed7">https://hackernoon.com/pico-8-lighting-part-1-thin-dark-line-8ea15d21fed7</a></p> <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico39463.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> Doodle #5</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>Some particles following the hexagonal coordinates guide by @redblobgames.</p> <p>www.redblobgames.com/grids/hexagons/</p> <p>Also uses <a href="https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?uid=11047"> <a href="https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?uid=11047"> @TRASEVOL_DOG</a></a>'s signature procedural dithering for the trails.</p> <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico39102.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> Doodle #4</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>This one is a slight modification to Doodle #3, where I modified the up/down dots to bounce with the left/right dots. I'd forgotten I removed the wrapping around the edges, so lots of interactions happen in the middle but then they all fly off into the distance.</p> <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico38797.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> Doodle #3</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>This was a bug, but I liked how it turned out. Apparently I deleted that code when I refactored Doodle #2.</p> <p> <table><tr><td> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> <img src="/bbs/thumbs/pico38647.png" style="height:256px"></a> </td><td width=10></td><td valign=top> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> Doodle #2</a><br><br> by <a href="/bbs/?uid=12881"> TimSwast</a> <br><br><br> <a href="/bbs/?pid=38429#p"> [Click to Play]</a> </td></tr></table> </p> <p>More cellular automata in this one. If a black dot has a blue dot to the left, the black space turns blue and the formerly blue space turns dark blue. Don't go too fast, though. These fish scare easily. Once you've hooked one, reel it in slow and steady.</p> <p>Avoid the boot. If you aren't catching anything, make sure your hook is pink. That means it has bait. If it is grey, then a fish stole the bait. Reel the hook in to put bait back on.</p> <p>This is my first time participating in a pico-8 jam. I really enjoyed it.
