A couch multiplayer game for those who like blowing things up.

Gone Fission! is my take on a strategy game that was a popular PD/Shareware title for the 16 bit microcomputers. To win, eliminate up to 3 other players by blowing up your tiles and claiming their squares.

How To Play

⬅️⬆️⬇️➡️ - move cursor
❎ place atom
🅾️ next player (2+ human players only).

Place an atom on any empty square on the board.
You can use your next turn to place an atom on another empty square or on top of your current atom.
After up to 4 atoms are placed on an empty square (2 in corners, and 3 in sides) they explode, throwing the atoms onto adjacent squares and turning them your colour.
Cause chain reactions by blowing up multiple squares at a time.

This game is designed to be played by up to 4 players, with 3 difficulty levels of computers should you wish. You can also choose your colour atoms and set your name.

This version adds a couple of new features, tweaks the AI a bit and also fixes a couple of bugs:-

Feature: The movement the computer has last made has been highlighted on the screen.
Feature: I put an artificial "thinking" timer so the AI appears to calculate the move, which in actual fact it doesn't. You can now disable this to make the game quicker.
Tweak: The "Medium" difficulty is slightly harder, with it picking from the top 10% of moves, rather than top 25% of moves to play.
Bug: If you skip to the end with computer players still playing and you get a Stalemate, the 4th player (defaultly name PL4) now isn't the default winner, but it's whoever is the one with the highest score at the end.
Bug: Fixed a spelling mistake on the cartridge image.

Mari Lwyd's Festive Rap Battle

My second entry to the Pico-8 Advent Calendar Game Jam is Mari Lwyd's Festive Rap Battle.

Mari Lwyd is a Welsh tradition that sees a group of people go around houses in the run up to Christmas, singing to be let in for food. The homeowners sing back excuses to not let in Mari Lwyd until you run out of excuses and let Mari Lwyd in. It's used to collect food for the food bank.

This is a simple rhythm game where you need to match what Mari Lwyd sings to you.

How To Play

⬅️⬆️⬇️➡️❎🅾️: Press the buttons in the sequence Mari Lwyd sings to you. One mistake and Mari Lwyd will steal something from your fridge!

Changelog

v1.1 - Added the ability to change the button display order on the title screen, one piece of feedback I received was that the button order was off on some devices, so this can be set.
v1.0 - Initial Release

Frosty's Snowed Under!

My first Pico-8 Game, and my entry to the Pico-8 Advent Calendar Game Jam is Frosty's Snowed Under!

Guide Frosty through an obstacle course to get a present from the Christmas Factory to deliver to Santa to save Christmas. Collect Snowflakes to improve your high score. A score attack game with multipliers and a time limit! What can you score?
