The world is coming to an end.
You awaken in a hospital infested with zombies.
Someone has left a pumpgun for you to try and make your way out alive.
Left and right: Move
Up and down: Enter and exit doors.
Z: Throw grenade
X: Shoot / melee attack when grabbed by a zombie.
This is not a bad walking sim. The visuals are spot on. I think 13 floors worth is hard to justify without some narrative or challenge, though. Halfway through, I started wondering if there was going to be any variation at all.

That makes sense. The monsters begin to change a bit the further you get down, Perhaps 13 floors is a bit too much.

I agree that adding some story elements could add a lot to what's already there, which was still pretty fun despite being so straightforward. The shell and grenade drop ratio hit a sweet spot of constantly almost running out without actually running out (too often anyway). Halfway through, I learned to strategize by not picking up item drops straight away. There was some strategy in knowing when to use grenades as well.
All in all this is pretty solid for your first pico-8 game. It's maybe a little violent... lol. But at last you made them zombies.
