Hello,

I've recently discovered Pico8 and am falling in love with it. One small quirk that might be easy to change but I did not figure out: how can I change the background of the environment, i.e. everything besides the Pico8 window in fullscreen mode on MacOS? It's a rather distracting red-black striped pattern and I'd favour something else, e.g. everything in black.

Any hints are appreciated,
Thanks,
Michael

Uhhhhhhh... I have no idea what your talking about and I use mac.. Do you mean the IDE? If so there's some options for bg colors in the config?
Or do you mean the empty space outside of the 128x128 in the window is red and black? if so that's a graphics driver OS thing and not sure how to help with that

(and as soon as I post I see your 2nd msg, nvm)

Hey SmellyFishstiks,

I deleted my post since it did not help as expected. What I mean is the pattern outside the window when I switch to fullscreen mode, see screenshot at https://mlesniak.com/shot.png.

Maybe we mean the same? Good to know that it's a driver's problem, although that also means there's nothing I can do about it.

Cheers,
Michael

I don't know what macOS version or hardware you're on, but your screenshot is definitely not what I see in full screen on Mojave on a 2013 Macbook Pro. The area outside the PICO-8 editor window is entirely black, no stripes, when I go to full screen. Could very well be a graphics driver glitch of some kind.

Hello 2bitchuck,

thanks. I've a MacBook Pro 2020 with macOS Big Sur. Ok, then no fullscreen mode for me but just maximized window mode 🤷‍♂️ ...
