Uh oh, a flock of ducklings has gone missing, and it's up to Duck Duck to save the day! Can you help them find all seven?
I mean... it's not really your responsibility. I'm sure they'll be fine on their own. Why don't you just take some time to wander around and enjoy yourself? And hey, if you happened to find some ducklings along the way, that's cool too.
note: the web version on the BBS won't work because the module's TOTAL_MEMORY is too low, but I've included the cart here so you can still download it if you want. If you want to play it online I recommend the itch.io version.
updates: fixed bottom-right corner crash
Since I've been watching this one develop for a while, it's great to finally play it. It's a joy just wandering around...until you realize that you need to remember where you home is!
I love how large the world feels and the "faux" 3D sky view worked out wonderfully. But I really love how the duck will auto-move around a tree when you hit it rather than just stopping. I mean, ducks don't run into trees, right?
However, the "quack" sound is the single most horrible sound I've ever heard come out of my Pico8. I'm not saying I could make a better sound - I couldn't - but I hope quacking is optional because I used it sparingly.
Still does not play Online in BBS.
Downloaded. Runs just fine in the registered PICO. Quite a marvel of a game you have here !
Will take me some time to play this I imagine.
... ??? Your world is massive. This entire game is massive. I think it should go in FEATURED because of its depth, scale, and obviously very hard work.
Genius map design. Nice job at that ! :)
awesome! the perspective view from the sky is really great!
a few things to make it even more perfect:
- the dialogs are confusing as to who's talking. maybe justify text on the right for the people you meet? or a speech bubble with a tail?
- when you're on water, add a ripple trail behind you and a splashy sound
everything else is awesome!
(I wonder what duck duck did to that woman in town...)
