Looking good so far! I see the Spacebar Clicker inspiration. I find it a little odd the button toggles between being pressed and unpressed; shouldn't it only show the pressed version when btn(⭕) is true? You should also be aware that holding down the button causes it to repeatedly click, due to PICO-8's default behavior. You can disable it with poke(0x5f5c, -1) at the start of your init function, but you might want to leave it to make the game easier on players' hands.
@PicoCoder Oh! I thought there was only a way to make the first click not repeated with btnp(), and I didn't know how poke() could do that! Thank you so much! I'll update ASAP! Also, I don't want the upgrades to be THAT easy anyways. Btw I didn't think of the btnp() stuff, thank you! Also it IS inspired by Spacebar Clicker. I didn't think people would recognize that that quickly besides the monkey upgrade... oh that gives it away doesn't it?
The clicks per second isn’t accurate with real world time. Have you accounted for FPS?
@brs172035 I do not think there is any known way to fix the overflow, since Pico-8 can only handle a maximum of about ~35,000-ish.
@brs172035 One way is to just use multiple numbers instead of just one, like having one number only go up to 9999, then when it goes above that add 1 to another number that also only goes up to 9999 but counts 10,000s instead of 1s
@0xFFFF967F and @brs172035 Yeah but there's one thing-I personally like the overflow so that people stop spamming.
I also like the concept of "GG! Now do it again!" because it's pretty funny
