PICO-WEDDING is a game I developed to commemorate my wedding. Yes of course I will have memories, pictures and signed documents, but what better way to remember and celebrate my big day than with a game where you control my beautiful bride and myself!
All joking aside, this is a collection of wedding themed mini-games.
Controls
- Arrow keys to move the character
- X key (x on keyboard) for most interactions
- O key (c or z on keyboard) for secondary interactions
Rules
Each mini-game has its own rules as follows.
Cake baking
There are two phases, in the first you must catch all the ingredients using the arrow keys to move, during the second phase you must press the correct arrow keys at the right time to stir the ingredients.
Race down the aisle
Alternate between the X and O buttons to keep the energy meter at the target point. This will speed up you character and get you to that wedding sooner!
Throw the bouquet
Aim for the crowd by pressing the X button to stop the target gauges at the right time. You have 5 attempts then the score are added.
Do the Conga
You need to grow the conga line as much as possible. Use the arrows to direct the line to new guests and add them to the line, while avoiding the rest of the dancers.
About the game
As mentioned I will be getting married soon, which means I am constantly thinking about the wedding. Developing this game has been a good way to embrace the obsession and make something creative!
Credits
Everything in the game was made by me. however, I do have to credit my wife for the inspiration, without here there is no wedding and therefore no game! <3
After the initial development done in secret, she joined me in QA testing and adding some additional personality to the game.
I also want to mention again the great work done by bikibird with their music tutorials and their amazing PICO DAW and DEFY carts which have been game changers for me.
Finally, I have to shout-out RENOISER by Rune, this cart made optimizing and ordering the tracks a breeze.
