CONTROLS

Left/Right: Turn

X: Ollie. Hold to accelerate, release to ollie (jump)

Down: Slow down

Up: Hold to transfer over a quarter-pipe. (In rare cases, you can also use it to accelerate but not prepare an ollie)

Z/C: Trick. Press to grind a rail or ledge, use directional keys to do various tricks! See this trick list at any time in the menu during gameplay.

There are more tricks than this... can you find them all?

HOW TO PLAY

If you've played the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series then you'll already know what to do - choose a level in the menu and try to complete all the goals! The goals are about getting a certain score, or getting a certain score in a short combo, or doing a certain trick over a gap.

Hold X to accelerate and then release it to Ollie. Use the "O" key (usually Z or C on a keyboard) to do tricks. Try pressing it before landing on a rail or edge to grind, or press a directional button before pressing the trick key to do a flip trick or grab trick in the air!

The most important trick to learn for doing longer combos and getting more points is the manual - press up, down before landing and you will continue your combo. You can extend your combo indefinitely as long as you can balance and do manuals between other tricks!

I had a blast playing this one-as I mentioned in the discord, this really rivals the "official" 2D ports of the franchise. I wish there was a freemode, maybe that could be a future thing <3
I will report back when I have beaten all levels and have something to boast about-in the meantime I hope that the Hawk sees this game!

Took me a few plays to get comfortable with the controls so I could get speed and still pull off a move but that's a little picky. Another great example of how P8 limitations help find the essence of a game, de-make or otherwise. Can't wait to give this a go on my handheld.

I love that 00's feel. It reminds me of the games I'd play at my friend's house.

I found a glitch that got me out of bounds.
I did a trick in the corner of a ramp and invisible wall.

Fantastic! This really does feel like T*ny Hawk, except I'm doing much better at this than at the original. XD I love the punky graffiti aesthetic, too - that was totally the look in the 2000s. Thank you for sharing this!

Plays really well on a gamepad/console such as Miyoo Mini Plus. Got about 10x better when I switched over.

Funny how this is actually fun to play compared to skatebirb

The 5000 in <= 5 combo doesn't seem to be unlocking on a 4 combo.

Specifically, I've gotten over 5000 multiple times now with a grind into a casper slide into a gride into a judo air, and it's still locked.
