Anim-8 is a very basic sprite animator meant for making an amination real quick.
Great for beginners, just learning or helping someone real quick online!

How to use

  1. Draw sprites
  2. Run the cart
  3. Watch it animate!

Instructions

Palette

Choose a color from the palette, then change it to any color (Even secret ones!)
Palette changes stay in the editor so you can continue to use them when drawing.

Background

Test your sprites on a background color or a map

Outline

Add a colored outline to make your sprites stand out

Width & Height

Anim-8 has full large sprite support (up to 4x4)

Size Preview

Increase the size of your sprites. Useful for sharing gifs of smaller sprites.

Speed

5 different animation speeds plus pause.

Spritesheet Tabs

Switch spritesheet tabs with < & > then shange the First and Last animation frame with O/X and </> respectivley.

(Beginner Tip: Press ctrl-8 to start recording a gif, then ctrl-9 to end)

My hope was to make something that I wish I had when first starting out.

I'm considering this tool finished, but I'll try to take a stab at any bugs that crop up..

is this tool already available somewhere to download and test?
