Hi

I was going to try to upload my work so far of a cart, but when selecting the exported .png I get the following error from the forum:
Not a valid cart. Please try again.

It has label.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there an issue with the site?

Can you play the cart locally, either by loading it from the command line or dragging the cart into PICO-8?

If not, you might be creating the cart incorrectly. What command are you using to create it?

After saving a label it should be something like:

save mycart.p8.png

If that's what you're doing and it's not working then...I don't know.

Did you already try loading the .png file into pico-8 for testing?

Also, have you made sure the cart is within the restrictions listed in the manual?

I mean this part in particular:
"When saving in .png format, the compressed size of the code must be less than 15360 bytes. To find out the current size of your code, use the INFO command. The compressed size limit is not enforced for saving in .p8 format."

"Also, have you made sure the cart is within the restrictions listed in the manual?"

Can you please point me to this? I was unaware of restrictions. I assume I've done something wrong there then, as I can't load the .png which if I understand you right should be loadable in pico8.

I've simply done, ctrl+s, f2, "export out.png"
and then "load out.png" but get error:
could not load

"export out.png" only exports the sprite sheet as a png, you have to "save out.png"

Ahh, I see! Thought I was to save the p8 and then export a PNG, but this worked and I can now upload.

Thank you all kindly.
