Thanks packbat! I dunno if I'd technically call the music procedurally generated, I am just toggling a muted music channel on/off (see this thread for isolated music code).
The game came out of a creative coding tutorial series I started for my students and hope to continue again soon.
Aha! That'd explain why it works so well musically - in that case, good use of music cutoff to create that effect! It worked really well imho.
