I know that there's a LUA engine for PSP. Is it possible to port Pico-8 to the PSP? This would be awesome! I think the main question is if the PSP is fast enough to run Pico-8.

Looking at the specifications for the PSP, There are some issues to consider:

  • The CPU is 333 MHz (Needs 700 MHz)
  • The RAM is 32 MB (PICO-8, at least on PC, uses 24 MB with Celeste running, so that's a stretch)

Even if Pico-8 were somehow able to cope with the reduced CPU, there may be some programs running in the background on the PSP (like the LUA engine) that could overflow the RAM.

The only way that I could see PICO-8 on the console is either a very laggy port, or made in assembly code (which is insanely hard and time-consuming to do).

I'd like to see a Wii port

Ticks all the boxes with regards to specs, and has the wireless Wii remote controller with the correct number of buttons.

It's also cheap, plentiful, almost everybody probably has access to one anyway.

Plus you can plug in a USB keyboard for coding.

I'd pay again for a Wii port.
