Stars and Bucks: A fairly stressful little game of memory. Make coffee drinks from the ingredients the baristabot sends down the conveyor belt, and hope your customers rate you high enough to keep your job! "Enjoy" playing.

This is my first PICO-8 game, so, the code is pretty rough. The gameplay is somewhat intentionally stressful and un-fun -- it's simulating a job, after all.

I like the concept and packaging a lot but the mechanics are difficult to work with. I feel like I'm pressing buttons and getting no results a lot of the time. I move one pixel and suddenly it works, but meanwhile I've lost half a second on useless presses. The green highlight doesn't seem to consistently mean my action will work. You might want to be a bit more generous with your pickup radius or something, not sure exactly. I like it though. :)

Thanks! The pickup & dropoff has been a consistent trouble spot. Maybe I should put a couple pixels of slop on the x-axis so you can pickup/dropoff without being jammed right up next to the item.

This was pretty fun at first until it got overwhelming =)
I really like the layout, very clever!
sucks when the conveyor belt keeps pumping out stuff you can't use though.
Also maybe make the order of ingredients matter for extra frustration =)
Perhaps buttons you can press at the top of the screen to request certain ingredients from the back room.

I was thinking it might encourage your back room person to put out what you need when you ask the person what they wanted again.

It's a fun game but it's not very ergonomic. It would be easier if the machine put out what you wanted, but I suppose that's not in the spirit of things.
