Fun behind the scenes stuff
I first began the project in april. I wanted to make a test demo for a enemy idea I had for a different game, I thought it was a super cool original idea, and then I realized I had created the monty mole from SMW.
I left the project for a while until the start of june, I had returned from a family trip and reopened the project in its rough state. I thought it would be funny to have the sleeping enemy jump at the player and that inspired the chicken theme of the game. For some reason a Egg fighting chickens seemed like the best way to spend my summer, and I hadn't completed a platformer up until this point, let alone created one that was even functional. ALOT OF THINGS in this game (mechanic wise) are politely borrowed from other games. The chicken enemy is basically just the monty mole from SMW, the groundpound is a blend of shovel knight and NSMB, and the clouds are inspired by celeste. I did NOT use any Al in this, the guy is like 60 anyways and still making parodies so it would be hard to get a hold of him. there was also no "artificial intelligence" used in this project. this was alot of fun though, spent maybe 2 months on this working on and off whenever I wanted to and I got everything I wanted too out of this project. This game is basically one big happy accident, I added a bunch of stuff that wasted tokens just cause I thought it would be cool to add. The platforming is very unforgiving but I hope that whoever is reading this sticks with it because I added a fun little challenge at the end (level 4 is a fun one). thank you for reading my whatever this paragraph is, have a lovely day.
